Entry:

The entryway located on the first floor consists of the main reception area. It has adjacencies to the cafe and gift shop on one side and the exhibits on the other. The floor leading up to the reception desk is divided by yellow and blue linking lines which are created to indicate the division of the fast lane pass and regular lane pass. In addition, the signage on the back wall showcases the linking lines again bringing in the concept of gears rotating and linking different aspects together as they shift and move. Moreover, this perspective also shows a small area of the cafe. The cafe located on the right-hand side is placed in a frosted glass enclosure and is supplied with pre-packaged food and drinks for easy and quick consumption. The food is made fresh every morning to cater to the well-being and health of the users. The drinks are stored in suitable cool conditions and replaced at appropriate times to ensure maximum safety of the users. The cafe provides the users with a space to rejuvenate and relax while simultaneously interacting with other members of the community in a safe and distant way.

Exhibit/Break Area:

The break room is located on the first floor and is a space designed for the users to get together as a community and discuss the exhibits or even just take a break and relax for a little while. This area is divided into two segments, one which provides the zone for the users to relax while the other consists of an exhibit for a more interactive feel for the community. The linking of two functions within one space ties back to the concept of gears and helps build the community through interactive learning. The gear-shaped carpet tiles on the floor are meant as a form of wayfinding for the users to navigate their way to the breakroom from the main reception area. In addition, the hexagonal lighting fixture is a way to divide the space while simultaneously linking the concept to the space.

Makers Space:

The Makers Space is an area that is on the opposite side of the upstairs exhibits. This space allows children and their parents to break away and socialize or to observe the exhibits from afar. The small round seating is intended to be movable and easy to carry for flexibility of seating. The use of different materials on the seating allows the space to be easily changed just by moving around the furniture and we encourage children to come up with their own seating layouts. The use of a gear-shaped rug with a different flooring material is used to help separate this space from the actual exhibits not pictured. On the ceiling are honeycomb-patterned light fixtures with drop-down yellow gears for added interest and to help tie in the concept of gears.

Party Room:

The party room is intended for parents and children who choose to host their events at Imagination Station. It is a room that is separated from the exhibits to give privacy while still allowing some visibility to exhibits through the use of the glass walls. The party room also incorporates a glowing gear wall as a fun focal point and a potential photo op. Also included is a wall of colorful gears that incorporates power words that Imagination Station embodies such as teamwork and ambition. This room has various seating options to cater to different sized children and to allow overall flexibility of seating. It also encourages grouping to help with the socialization of the children which is an important skill for children to develop. Not pictured is a full functioning kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, and sink for easy access to food and drink storage.
